Biographical Sketch of Mr. Christopher Young


Mr. Young has a Degree in Fire Engineering, and 32 years working experience in Municipal/County Government, with 23 years as Building Official. Mr. Young is the Chief Building Official with the Coconino County, Arizona.


Mr. Young's experience includes:


  • In Buffalo, New York

-Retired Battalion Chief after 20-years as a career firefighter/paramedic.

-NYS Certified Code Administrator

-NYS Certified State Fire Marshal

-Member of the New York State Code Council

-New York State Fire Instructor at Building and Fire Code Academy

-Adjunct Instructor for the National Fire Academy

  • In Toledo, Ohio

-2 years as the Commissioner of Building Codes for the City of Toledo

-Adjunct Instructor for the Ohio Building Code Academy

  • In Arlington, Washington

-Director of Community Development for Arlington, WA

-10 years as the Building Official

-Appointed the ICC Building Official Membership Council

-Liaison to the Fire Service Membership Council

  •  In Coconino County, Arizona

-Chief Building Official

-Chairman for the ICC Building Official Membership Council

-Liaison to the Fire Service Membership Council

-Member of ICC Codes and Standards Committee

-2nd Vice President Grand Canyon Chapter of ICC

               


Biographical Sketch of Mr. Jesse Newton  


Mr. Newton has 31 years working for the government- 8 years in the U.S. Navy, and for the last 23 years with Coconino County, Arizona. Mr. Newton is currently the Lead Plans Examiner with the Coconino County Building Division.


He is a member of the ICC Sustainability Education Development Committee.  Through the ICC he is certified as:


-Mechanical Plans Examiner

-Plumbing Plans Examiner

-Commercial Energy Plans Examiner

-Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner

-Building Plans Examiner

-Residential Plans Examiner

-Residential Electrical Inspector
